Plainfield is a city located in Union County, New Jersey, and is part of the New York City metropolitan area. The area was settled by Quaker settlers in 1684 and to this day retains many buildings from the colonial and Revolutionary War eras, with the Nathaniel Drake House having briefly served as George Washington’s headquarters in 1777. Present-day Plainfield was originally formed as Plainfield Township in 1847, from portions of Westfield Township. Plainfield city was later taken from portions of Plainfield Township in 1869. The city and township co-existed until 1878, when Plainfield Township was dissolved and much of its territory incorporated into Plainfield city. Plainfield has had a long reputation as a favorable place to live, including being known in the 19th century as having a climate that was good for respiratory ailments, and being a place where the wealthy from New York City could build homes outside the city.

Potentially, depending on the circumstances of your accident. For example, if your motorcycle accident was caused by a pothole or other poor road conditions, it may be possible to assert a negligence claim against the municipality responsible for maintaining the road if the municipality knew of and failed to take a reasonable opportunity to repair the road. Similarly, if your accident was caused by some design or manufacturing defect in your motorcycle or in some part on your motorcycle, you may be able to assert a product liability claim against the manufacturer.
Unfortunately, insurance companies sometimes try to avoid responsibility for paying out compensation to injured motorcycle accident victims by claiming that the motorcycle rider was in fact at fault for his or her own accident. This is often facilitated by bias or prejudice against motorcycle riders by those who view motorcycles as inherently dangerous and those who ride motorcycles as dangerous or reckless motorists. If the insurance company is denying you compensation because it claims that you were at fault for your accident, you need to speak to one of our experienced motorcycle crash attorneys in Plainfield, NJ who can fight back against the tactics of the insurance company and aggressively advocate for your rights and interests.
