Nj grand jury issues criminal indictment in tracy morgan truck accident case

The truck driver who allegedly caused the accident that killed one person and seriously injured famed comedian Tracy Morgan in 2014 has been indicted by a New Jersey grand jury. On June 7, 2014, Kevin Roper was reportedly exhausted while driving a Wal-Mart truck on the New Jersey Turnpike. According to authorities, Roper had been awake for 28 hours, a violation of federal laws and safety regulations, when he crashed into a limousine carrying Morgan and others. As a result of the truck accident, the 47-year-old Morgan suffered life-threatening injuries, including a traumatic brain injury and multiple broken bones.
